Indian Sari
The Indian sari is the traditional dress of women from the Indian subcontinent. Essentially a long piece of ornately decorated cloth, they can be worn in many different ways. They can be worn by themselves, or with a blouse and/or petticoat.
The Indian sari is arguably the oldest garment still in use today. Its origins date back thousands of years, and over that period of time it has changed very little. However, the use of a blouse and petticoat is largely believed to have only developed due to the Victorian sensibilities of British colonists during the 19th century.
An Indian sari can be most easily found by searching for online retailers. There are numerous online sources, most of which will be able to provide you with a variety of styles from which to choose. Because many of these are handmade, one should expect to see slight color variations.
